Vacancies: The Everton Collection

"If you know your history…" The Everton Collection

The project involves an outstanding collection of archives and artefacts relating to the history of

Everton Football Club. The collection is currently in two parts. One part belongs to a private collector.

It dates from the 1880s onwards and includes over 6,000 programmes, minute books, accounts, contracts,

and correspondence. It has been described by expert valuers as the most comprehensive archive relating

to a single football club in the world. The other part of the collection is also highly significant and currently

belongs to and is located at Everton FC. It includes photographs, trophies, shirts, medals, and newscuttings.

They offer enormous possibilities for life-long learning and wide-ranging research not only into

football, sport, and leisure, but also local, national, social, business, advertising, and economic history.

The Everton Collection Charitable Trust with Liverpool Record Office as the key partner has been

successful with its application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for acquiring the private collection and for

promoting both collections, which will be deposited in Liverpool Record Office.
