Enterprise Week 12 -18 November 2007

Organisations, school, colleges and universities across the country are beginning to prepare for this years Enterprise Week (12 – 18 November), the biggest annual celebration of all things enterprising across the UK. Let’s show the rest of the Country that Liverpool is the most Enterprising place of all!

What is Enterprise Week?
Enterprise Week is an annual UK-wide week of activities and events, aimed at encouraging young people (14-30) to be more enterprising and develop an enterprise culture.

Enterprise Week is a great opportunity for showcasing what hundreds of organisations already do all year round to help foster an enterprise culture, or alternatively to launch a new initiative or scheme.

During Enterprise Week there are themed days to help you co ordinate your activities but you can run your event on any day. The Make Your Mark Challenge must be entered on the Monday.

Monday – Make Your Mark Challenge
Tuesday – Make Your Mark at Work
Wednesday – Girls Make Your Mark
Thursday – Social Enterprise Day
Friday – Connect, networking
“There is no doubting the value that enterprise provides to the British economy. The business world should do all it can to support and promote enterprise and encourage more young people to get involved.”

Miles Templeman, Director-General of the Institute of Directors

Why run an Enterprise Week activity?
We need people and organisations to help create an environment that allows enterprising behaviour to flourish. It’s important young people believe in themselves and strive to make their ideas happen, and they often need encouragement and help.

The drive to nurture enterprise talent needs business, education, government, voluntary organisations and the media to work together – no single sector or organisation working in isolation can create opportunities on this ambitious scale.

What Can You Do For Enterprise Week?

There are lots of activities / events you could do during Enterprise Week some with no budget at all. You could open your event up to the public or keep it within your organisation. There are lots of ideas on the website and case studies of previous Enterprise Week events www.enterpriseweek.org/resources/activitysuggestions

How do we register our event?

You can register your event(s) here: www.enterpriseweek.org/events/register or contact a member of the team on 0151 703 7460 or jacqueline@makeyourmark.org.uk and we can register it for you.
